Add resources to a project
This guide explains how to add resources to a project, so everyone working on it has the files and reference material they need. You can upload a file from your device, add an asset from the DAM, or link to a document stored elsewhere by URL. Add from the DAM to reuse brand assets, and use a URL for material that lives outside Storyteq CMP, such as a shared folder.
Once assets are in the project, you can send them for review, and publish the approved ones to the DAM.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
-
Access to Collaboration Hub projects, through a group set up by your administrator.
-
The Owner, Editor, or Creator role on the project. The project owner assigns project roles from the project’s Collaborators tab, as described in Manage project collaborators.
Find the right resource tab
-
Select Content Portal from the app switcher in the left navigation.
-
Select Collaborate, then select the All Projects tab.
-
Open a project and select Resources from the left navigation.
-
Select the tab for the type of resource you want to add.
|
What you see here depends on your workspace’s configuration. Each project type has its own resource tabs, and the workflow controls which tabs are available at each stage. If the tab you need isn’t visible, contact your administrator. |
Upload a resource from your device
-
Open the resource tab, then select Add.
-
Browse to the file you want to upload.
-
In the upload window, check the preview to confirm you’ve chosen the right file.
-
Select Upload.
The resource appears in the tab you selected, and in the All Items tab if your project has one.
Use an asset from the DAM
Some project types let you add DAM assets as reference files, in the Reference Files tab.
-
Select the Reference Files tab, then select Add Reference Files.
The DAM picker opens, showing assets from your current domain. If you have access to more than one domain, select a different one from the dropdown.
-
Search for assets using free text, filters, or keywords to narrow the results.
-
Select one or more assets.
-
Select Select.
The assets appear in the Reference Files tab, and in the All Items tab if your project has one.
| Storyteq CMP copies the assets into the project and does not link them to the originals in the DAM. Later changes to a DAM asset do not update its copy. |
Add a supporting document by URL
Add a supporting document by URL when it lives in a shared location outside Storyteq CMP. Everyone on the project can then open the latest version through one link.
-
Select the Supporting Documents tab.
-
Select Add Supporting Document.
-
Select Upload New Supporting Document from URL.
-
In the window that opens, enter a descriptive name in the Name field.
-
Paste the document or folder link into the URL field.
-
Select Upload.
-
Select Manage New Resource.
The URL appears as a resource in the Supporting Documents tab, and in the All Items tab if your project has one.
